Madam Minister

Madam Minister

Sirens pierced and blasted the cool morning air. Convoy of black jeeps swerved into the drive way. And halted. Her secretaries alighted.  And headed to toward the lobby.

“Honey, see you in the evening”
“What…what,” screamed her husband.
“Why did you scream like that?”

Her husband was glaring at her.
“Yesterday you went out by 7:30 . Today you are doing the same. Won’t you supervise our children’s breakfast.”
“Honey, please don’t start rambling and bickering again. It drives me crazy. What is Ekaite and Chatie doing? Please allow them to do their work. I pay them for it.”
“That’s not the point,” yelled Dr. Monteseri.

Ndi went close to him. Her eye lashes flapping, lips pushing out, and a finger pointing at him.
"Please don’t wake up the children. Don’t entertain our maids. Allow them be. Everything you need is in the fridge,” she said, and turned to go.
He stood there, tears on his eyes, staring at his wife, walking out of the front door.
